Launched at the end of 2017, the Vantage is a brand new 2-seater sports car of the British automaker, following the success of the 2005 Vantage. With the new convertible version, Aston Martin no longer uses magic. term “Volante” which is replaced by the phrase “Roadster”.

The convertible version still uses the same engine block on the coupe version – V8 twinturbo engine, 4.0L capacity with code M177 produced by Mercedes-AMG. The car has a capacity of 510 horsepower and 685 Nm of torque.

That power is transmitted to the rear wheels via an 8-speed gearbox produced by ZF, allowing the Vantage Roadster to accelerate from 0 to 96 km / h in just 3.7 seconds – 0.2 slower than the coupe version. seconds. Aston Martin Vantage Roadster can reach a top speed of 306 km / h.

The roof opening mechanism on the Vantage Roadster is called “Z-Fold” by Aston Martin, which weighs only about 60 kg. However, the automaker says this is the world’s fastest electronic hood opening technology appearing on commercial vehicles.

This system only takes 6.7 seconds to fold the roof completely down, and takes 6.8 seconds to fully open the hood, with a speed of up to 50 km / h.

The convertible version is equipped with many technologies, equivalent to the coupe version such as the adaptive suspension, the function to change the traction each wheel, the electric differential in the rear … Vantage Roadster is equipped with 3 driving modes: Sport, Sport + and Track.

In 2021, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the “Vantage” that first appeared on the 1951 DB2, Aston Martin will offer a new option. The highlight is the horizontal multi-spoke grille of classic Aston Martins, along with a choice of exterior paint colors, wheels and a 7-speed manual transmission option, which was once exclusive to the AMR versions.

The starting price of the 2021 Aston Martin Vantage Coupe is about $ 146,000, while the Roadster convertible version is priced at $ 161,000. Currently, both models can be pre-ordered, but customers have to wait until the third quarter of 2020 to get their hands on the Vantage Roadster.
