VIDEO: BMW teases the M5 CS. The BMW M ends 2020 by teasing the upcoming BMW M5 CS with more performance than the M5’s premium line, adding more power and reducing weight.
The person who brought important information about the M5 CS in the video is BMW M CEO Markus Flasch said that the premium M5 has a capacity of 635 hp and 750 Nm of torque, and will be 70 kg lighter. compared to the M5 Competition (capacity of 616 hp and 750 Nm of torque from the V8 biturbo engine combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission and convertible AWD, capable of accelerating from 0-100 km / h in 3.4 seconds before reaching a top speed of 305 km / h).
“The M5 CS will get carbon fiber seats from the latest M3 and M4 and will be a true four-seater where you can expect something in the back,” said Flasch.
The M5 CS is revealed to have forged aluminum rims finished in copper gold, accompanied by the M5 CS’s exclusive ceramic brake with red clamp. The tires used are Pirelli P Zero Corsa measuring 275/35 at the front and 285/35 at the back, BMW M said.
When the curtain is pulled up, it’s easy to see the satin finish, potentially including the prefix “Frozen” in the color name, with gold copper being applied to the kidney grille, fender trim and other locations. As a CS variant, the front end can be briefly seen at 52 seconds of the video showing the same carbon fiber front splitter on the F80 M3 CS and F82 M4 CS models.
A sporty motorcycle-style yellow LED headlight is adopted, along with the bonnet which is also made from carbon fiber.
The BMW M5 CS will be fully announced next month, Flasch said.
