2021 Ford Ranger facelift has just been launched in Thailand. The car’s appearance is slightly upgraded, the engine and interior remain the same.
Ford Ranger T6 has been 9 years since its launch in 2011. Since then, this model uses a single platform and is sold in many markets. The nearly one-decade life cycle of the Ranger T6 undergoes two physical upgrades in 2015 and 2018.
However, the American automaker has yet to release the new generation of this pickup. Instead, the company launched a third generation upgrade for 2021. The new model is produced and launched in Thailand, the front end is sportier and will be sold in other markets soon.
The facelift Ford Ranger T6 has a black trapezoidal mesh grille, similar to the limited edition Ford Ranger Thunder that was launched in Europe earlier this year. The door handles and rearview mirror cladding are also decorative black.
Five-spoke, 5-spoke alloy wheels are painted in glossy black for a more rigid look. Wildtrak variants are equipped with a power roller in the rear cargo door for added convenience.
There is no change inside the cabin nor the option of a diesel engine. A new version called Ranger XL Street has also been introduced, featuring SuperCab configuration.
The bodywork features sporty stripes designed by Ford Australia, but is inspired by Ford Thailand Racing (FTR), similar to what has been applied to the Ranger Raptor sporty version.
The 2021 Ford Ranger facelift is expected to be launched in Europe next year, the car is produced at the Silverton plant in South Africa. While Ranger in the Southeast Asian market is produced in Thailand.
Chances are, this is the last upgraded version of the Ford Ranger T6 before the company launches the new generation.
