Ford Equator – Toyota Highlander rival in China

Ford Equator has just revealed some actual images before its official launch. Ford Equator will own 2.0L engine. The car reaches a maximum capacity of 221 horsepower.

Ford Equator is produced by joint venture Jiangling-Ford (JMC-Ford). The Ford Equator has a length of x width x height of 4,905 x 1,930 x 1,755 mm, and a wheelbase of up to 2,865 mm.

The Equator’s exterior design is very different from other Ford models with sporty LED daytime running lights in front and a large black grille. From the side, the SUV is quite sturdy with a tall and flat hood. Behind, the Ford Equator owns a thin LED rear light cluster and a roof spoiler.

The crossover images were revealed by Car News China. In it, there are some photos showing interior compartment. Accordingly, the center console of the Ford Equator is a large and stretched screen, displaying both infotainment and instrument clusters. The center console is also separated with a knob instead of a lever to shift gears.

The page also said that the Ford Equator will compete in the mid-size crossover segment with SUVs such as Jeep Grand Commander and Toyota Highlander in the Chinese market.
Customers only have one engine option for the Ford Equator, a petrol-powered 2.0L 4-cylinder EcoBoost, with a maximum output of 221 hp. Comes with it is a 5-speed manual or automatic transmission and optional rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive (AWD).
