Ford’s new move makes the Mustang Mach 1 2021 easy for high-performance car enthusiasts. And so, 2021 Mustang Mach 1 will be sold more widely, unlike the previous Shelby GT350. Possessing many powerful features for the track, the Ford Mustang Mach 1 2021 is a muscle car that many people expect.
However, Ford has not disclosed the price information or production number of the new Mustang Mach 1. Mustang Shelby GT350 was previously only sold in the US market.
The reason for this change is that Europe applies stricter emissions regulations.
The Shelby GT350’s 5.2L Voodoo V8 engine doesn’t meet the stringent EU emissions standards. Shelby GT500 also had a similar situation with a supercharged 5.2L V8 engine with a capacity of 760 horsepower.
So what’s the difference between Mustang Mach 1? The engine part, of course. The new muscle car comes with Mustang GT’s 5.0L Coyote V8 naturally aspirated engine that produces 480 hp and 569 Nm of torque.
At the normal level, this engine makes 460 hp and 569 Nm of torque, and has been licensed in the European market.
Perhaps that is also one of the reasons Ford decided to use this engine on the Mustang Mach 1 instead of the upgraded 5.2L V8.
Besides the Shelby GT350, the Mustang Mach 1 also serves as a successor to the Mustang Bullitt (just stopped production). Mustang Bullitt also uses a 5.0L V8 engine and is sold in many markets.
2021 Mustang Mach 1 sold to the global market is considered a wise step for Ford. After all, many customers have never had their hands on the Shelby models, and still do.
Mustang Bullitt has just been removed and replaced by Mustang Mach 1. Ford retains the Mustang EcoBoost and two GT coupe and convertible GT models.
2021 Mustang Mach 1 in the European market will be equipped with a 6-speed Tremec gearbox of Shelby GT350. Car buyers can choose a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The new Mustang Mach 1 uses a variety of Shelby-sourced components such as the intake manifold, engine oil cooler, oil filter, rear axle cooler, and even the GT500’s 4.5-inch exhaust system.
European customers can purchase the Mustang Mach 1 2021 from early next year.
