The 11th generation Civic as a prototype (prototype) will be officially launched by Honda on November 17.
The compact car will be featured online on the Twitch platform during a special event that will start at 5pm PST (20pm EST on 11/18 – 2am CET) and the official premiere at 6:45 pm according to PST (9:45 am EST on November 18 – 3:45 am CET).
The manufacturer also released an introductory image and video, revealing part of the model’s design through glass panels, showing reshaped grille, new headlights with integrated LED DRL and one side. the latter looks much cleaner.
The tail light design is somewhat similar to the Mercedes-Benz A-Class Sedan although there are different graphics and the “Civic” logo is placed above, next to the “Honda” logo is still in the middle position.
Engine versions on offer have yet to be revealed, but the current Civic Sedan is powered by a 158-hp naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. From the EX level, the car will be equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 174 horsepower and 219 Nm of torque. CVT gearbox is still the only option but hopefully this will be changed in the new generation.
The Civic Si will still be offered, likely to have more power compared to the current 205 hp and 260 Nm 1.5 L turbo-four, while the Civic Type R remains a luxury vehicle. Honda will launch the all-new Civic Sedan in the US in late spring 2021 as a 2022 model.
