Honda has released more details on the new HR-V 2022, which will be available only with hybrid powertrain in Europe.
Honda HR-V e: The all-new HEV is powered by a combination of the 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine and two electric motors, for a combined output of 129 hp and 253 Nm of torque. . It’s basically a more powerful version of the hybrid powertrain found in the Honda Jazz model, which shares the same architecture as the new HR-V.
The new Honda HR-V’s hybrid powertrain comes with three main drive modes: Sport, Normal and Econ- while there’s also an additional ‘B’ mode that can be selected via a gear selector to more powerful regenerative brakes.
Honda says the new HR-V hybrid can start in pure EV mode, switching to a gasoline engine continuously while driving at higher, more stable speeds, such as on the highway.
The new Honda HR-V 2022 platform allows for more spacious interior space, which increases the rear legroom by 35mm.
The new Honda HR-V also has a rear Magic Seat layout, allowing for both flat folding and seat flip functions.
The infotainment system features a 9-inch touchscreen with a simplified and fully customizable interface for easier access, integrates with wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto.
In addition, the Honda HR-V 2022 also has the Honda Sensing system suite, including: wider monocular camera, higher definition and high speed image processing chip, making it better than the front camera and radar sensor combination; new adaptive cruise control monitors steering angle and lateral G-force, and comes with low-speed tracking and brake control. Systems such as blind spot information, cross traffic monitoring and pass control are also included in this suite.
Honda will launch the new HR-V e: HEV in Europe in late 2021, with pricing details to be announced closer to the launch date.
