Hyundai Ioniq 5, running up to 510km / charge, is coming soon

Hyundai has just unveiled the all-new Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric car. Hyundai Ioniq 5 will have a capacity of up to 310 horsepower and a range of 510km.

According to Motor1, the US auto website found the Ioniq 5-related specifications in a presentation document sent to the dealer. Although there is no official confirmation from the company, customers may be excited about what the new Hyundai Ioniq 5 2022 has to offer.

Accordingly, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric car will use rear-wheel drive and AWD drive system, for an output capacity of up to 310 horsepower. This power is on par with muscle models like the Ford Mustang Ecoboost 2020 and Subaru WRX STI. Brand and configuration of the battery pack (s) are not mentioned, but the vehicle is said to be capable of traveling within 510km according to WLTP standards.

The electric Hyundai Ioniq 5 supports DC fast charging up to 232 kW, meaning 80% can be reached in just 18 minutes. Built on the Electric Universal Module Platform (E-GMP), the Ioniq 5 features multi-charge technology that allows users to charge 400 volts DC and 800 volts, or charge AC more slowly with standard 240 volt power.

In addition, the platform features 2-way charging technology with Vehicle To Load (V2L) that allows users to turn the vehicle into a standby generator of 3.5 kW capacity.

In terms of size, the Ioniq 5 has a 3-meter wheelbase and up to 600 liters of storage space. In the cabin, the car is equipped with “fully reclined seats and a removable central console”. Other highlights include a 12.3-inch digital display and a 44-inch HUD display with interactive virtual reality.

Like most modern electric vehicles, the Ioniq 5 will also feature Level 2 autonomous technology. The Ioniq 5 is scheduled to launch in February. The Ioniq 5 will be the first Ioniq electric vehicle to be launched, followed by the Ioniq 6 and 7.
