Recently, Genesis has released new images and details of the upgraded G70 after it was released last month.
The first thing to mention, is that the 2022 Genesis G70 is equipped with soundproof glass for the windshield and front door glass. This promises to create a quieter and more comfortable cabin for the 2022 Genesis G70.
Inside, the G70 has a standard upgraded instrument cluster with an 8-inch screen. It also gets a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. In addition, the car also features voice recognition technology and Genesis CarPlay – allowing to pay parking fees or refuel without having to get out of the car.
Other highlights include integrated dashcam and digital lock technology. The 2022 G70 is also equipped with an upgraded wireless smartphone charger for faster device charging.
The vehicle is available with 3 different engine options. The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder produces 249 hp and 353 Nm of torque, while the 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V6 produces 365 hp and 510 Nm of torque. Korean customers can also get a 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine that produces 199 hp and 441 Nm of torque.
All three engine types have the option of a sport package that includes exterior adjustments, as well as functional upgrades such as adaptive suspension, Brembo brakes and a slip-limited differential. On the V6 engine, the car also has a variable sports exhaust system.
The gasoline-powered Sport versions are also more powerful when the 2.0-liter twin-turbocharged four-cylinder produces 252 horsepower. Likewise, the V6 twin turbocharged engine has an increased capacity of 368 hp.
In terms of performance, the 2022 G70 gets a new Sport + drive mode. Genesis representatives said that with this mode, the car will disable the engine start / stop system and delay the gear shift “as much as possible” when accelerating.
This model can also be fitted with a dynamic all-wheel drive system with a built-in drift mode. The company did not reveal details about this mode, such as revealing the system that “increases engine torque beyond the limited efficiency of the tire, allowing the technology to leave the curve if it slips”.
In terms of safety, the 2022 G70 features a range of steering assistance systems including: Forward collision avoidance, blind spot collision avoidance, safe exit warning and traffic collision avoidance. . There’s also lane-keeping assist, multi-collision braking, and navigation-based smart cruise control.
