The next generation Mitsubishi Outlander accidentally leaked before being revealed early next year.
Recently, the Mitsubishi Outlander 2022 test model has been revealed. The photos, posted on the @allcarnews Instagram account, show that the Mitsubishi SUV is completely uncovered.
The new Outlander appears to share a large part of the design with Mitsubishi’s Engelberg Tourer – a concept that first debuted in March 2019 – and carries the brand’s current design language, with its slim headlights and side panels, pointed front. The split LED lights and large grille give the car a strong appearance, while the overall design is modern and has sturdy hardware. Body and rear are made square to look like “elder” Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.
According to leaked information, the new Mitsubishi Outlander is developed on the same chassis and engine platform as the Nissan X-Trail, a fellow crossover model of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi auto alliance. In addition, according to a filing that Mitsubishi submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Outlander 2022 will use the 2.5L 4-cylinder engine of the new X-Trail. This engine produces 188 horsepower.
The interior will present a significant upgrade over previous generations. The fourth-generation Mitsubishi Outlander could be launched in the first quarter of next year and is scheduled to go on sale from the third quarter. Model Mitsubishi car will be a competitor of Honda CR-V, Nissan X-Trail.
