“Super product” Lamborghini Sian first landed in the US

Lamborghini has teased the Sian since September 2019 as a new “super product” based on the Aventador.

The model in question is finished in a bright orange paint called the Arancio Atlas and is fitted with a variety of polished carbon fiber parts, including the towering rear spoiler and engine hood.

The Sian is powered by a naturally aspirated Lamborghini 6.5-liter V12 engine combined with a mild-hybrid system that produces a total output of 808 horsepower. This mild-hybrid system includes a 48 V, 34 hp electric motor built into the box that provides instant response and improved performance.

What makes the Sian’s engine so special is the use of a supercapacitor instead of the traditional lithium-ion battery pack. This super capacitor is said to be 3 times more powerful than a battery pack of the same weight and up to 3 times lighter.

It is placed into the baffle between the cabin and engine to optimize weight distribution. The supercar also includes a regenerative brake system developed by Lamborghini itself. The stored energy can accelerate up to 130 km / h.

Lamborghini says the Sian can accelerate to 100 km / h in under 2.8 seconds and can reach a top speed of 350 km / h.

Only 63 were built and it is not known how many more Sian will arrive in North America.
