Currently, the SUV is the top concern. Hybrid MPV with SUV is a trend with Mitsubishi Xpander Cross or Suzuki XL7. The new-generation Toyota Sienna is also built with the SUV’s design language but retains the MPV bodywork.

In 2021, Sienna was built on the new Toyota TNGA-K platform. This platform is already used on the Camry, Avalon, RAV4, Highlander and Venza. In addition to increasing the rigidity of the chassis, this platform also helps optimize the battery space for hybrid models.

Compared to its predecessor, the 2021 Toyota Sienna has a more eye-catching and sporty appearance – in the style of an SUV. The wheel arch is embossed, looking more muscular than the MPV models on the market.

Overall, the 2021 Sienna’s design is quite similar to the new generation Venza. The front grille is divided into 2 floors, the top is thin and the lower part of the trapezoid covers most of the width of the front. This design has appeared in Venza, the new Camry.

The rear part of Sienna is made quite strong, the veins appear dense. If the underbody is a bit taller, Sienna looks like an SUV from behind. The LED strips of the taillights are quite well matched with the embossed veins. Sienna is equipped with 5-spoke wheels with sizes up to 20 inches.

2021 Sienna is equipped with side sliding doors, opening / closing the trunk with sensors, automatic 4-zone climate control, the second row of seats that can be extended with integrated pedestal and heating function, mini refrigerator, steering wheel adjustment electrically, digital rearview mirror, HUD screen and 12-speaker JBL sound system.

All 2021 Sienna versions use a 2.5L petrol engine that combines 2 electric motors for a total capacity of 243 horsepower. This engine comes with a CVT gearbox. For the version using 4-wheel drive, the gasoline engine is responsible for providing traction to the front axle, 2 electric motors take care of the rear axle.

In terms of safety, the 2021 Sienna is equipped with Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 package including forward collision warning, radar cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, 10 airbags …

In the US, the 2021 Toyota Sienna competes with the Honda Odyssey ($ 31,800), Chrysler Pacifica ($ 31,200), the Dodge Grand Caravan ($ 31,300), and the Kia Sedona ($ 30,400).
