Aprilia RS 660 Introducing 2021

Sportbike model 2021 Aprilia RS 660 owns a brand-name equipment system with 100 horsepower power.

After many times released the image “teased”, Aprilia officially launched the 2021 RS 660 in California (USA). RS 660 is considered a model that marks the return of the Italian motorcycle company in the midsize segment.

More than 10 years ago, Aprilia appeared in this segment with Shiver 750, Dorsoduro 750 and Mana 850GT. These models are not really successful, so Aprilia is not interested in the midsize segment.

Aprilia RS 660 is equipped with a 2-cylinder parallel engine, 660 cc capacity, producing 100 horsepower at 10,000 rpm and 67 Nm torque at 8,500 rpm.

This engine meets Euro 5 emissions standards. According to Aprilia, the RS 660’s 2 cylinders are tilted forward, similar to the two front cylinders in the 4-cylinder engine of the RSV4. As a result, the center of gravity of the RS 660 is pushed forward more, improving weight distribution.

With the crankshaft tilted 270 degrees, the parallel engine on the RS 660 behaves like a V-twin. Thanks to this arrangement, the RS 660’s engine produces a powerful and seductive sound similar to that of a V-twin.

In the group of 2-cylinder midsize motorcycles, the Aprilia RS 660 engine is the most powerful. For comparison, the Yamaha MT-07 can be chosen because of its similarity in a parallel 2-cylinder engine and the same engine capacity. Yamaha’s model only produces 74 horsepower, far behind the RS 660’s 100 horsepower figure. With only 4,000 rpm, the RS 660 has achieved 80% of torque and up to 90%. when at 6,250 rpm.

Overall, RS 660 has a design inherited from its elder RSV4. The car has a front and rear spoiler with air vents. In the front is a dual lighting system, integrated daylight LED strip with boomerang shape.

Equipment on the Aprilia RS 660 2021 includes Kayaba’s 41 mm upside-down front suspension, Brembo brakes, 5-inch dashboard with integrated call management and navigation features.

RS 660 has 5 driving modes, including 3 modes for the street and 2 modes for the track. The assistive technologies on the RS 660 include cornering ABS, anti-roll control, traction control, cruise control, 2-way fast shift assist and engine brakes.

2021 Aprilia RS 660 has 3 color schemes including Acid gold, Lava gold and Apex black. Similar to other Aprilia family models, the RS 660 comes with a racing option package, including Akrapovic’s full exhaust system, new ECU and dedicated racing gear set-up software.
