Volkswagen equips the 2022 Golf R with a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 315 horsepower and a maximum torque of 420 Nm. Compared to the old model, the new Golf R is 27 hp and 41 Nm more powerful. The North American market has an optional 6-speed manual gearbox in addition to the standard 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The 4-wheel drive system on the vehicle is equipped with torque vectoring technology to help minimize under-driving situation and minimize turning radius. 2022 Golf R can accelerate from 0-100 km / h in 4.7 seconds, a top speed of 250 km / h.

2022 Volkswagen Golf R has 6 driving modes: Comfort, Sport, Race, Individual, Special and Drift. The Special mode is optimized for softer damping, Race mode helps maintain maximum grip to the road surface, Drift allows the driver to perform swirling movements while cornering.
