It is expected that the recovery program to check and fix the above error will be announced from February 19, 2021. Affected vehicles are inspected by the car manufacturer’s authorized technicians and free of charge.

The total number of vehicles subject to the recall is 736,430 worldwide, of which there are 438 vehicles in Vietnam. In the US, the number of vehicles affected are more than 120,000 vehicles with a production period from November 9, 2018 to March 11, 2020, and in Denmark there are 6,500 vehicles that are subject to recall.

In the recalled Volvo cars, the software issue affected the ability of the AEB emergency brakes to function. The faulty software causes the emergency brake system to malfunction in certain situations such as not detecting all objects or pedestrians crossing.
