With an operating range of up to 300 km after fully charging and a low price, this electric car has proved an unbelievable attraction with more than 4,000 orders since its launch.
SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) has just officially launched the Wuling Air ev electric vehicle with a starting price of $9,700 – $11,860. In the Chinese market, the all-new Wuling Air EV will include 4 variants with 2 different body styles, a short version with only 2 seats and a longer wheelbase version with 4 seats.
Accordingly, the two-seat version of Wuling Air ev has detailed dimensions of length x width x height of 2599 x 1505 x 1631 mm respectively and a wheelbase of 1635 mm. Meanwhile, the 4-seat version of Wuling Air ev has dimensions of length x width x height of 2974 x 1505 x 1631 mm respectively with a wheelbase of 2010 mm.
Inside the cabin, this electric car is equipped with dual 10.25-inch screens with Wuling’s own Ling operating system. In particular, Wuling has developed an app so that owners can check the vehicle’s condition, start the car remotely, and even perform various remote operations such as raising the windows or controlling the air conditioning.
Powering the Wuling Air ev is a 30 kW (40 hp) motor for the 2-seater and a 50 kW (68 hp) electric motor for the 4-seater. The above engine is combined with a lithium-iron-phosphate battery to help Wuling Air ev have a maximum speed of 100 km / h. Surprisingly the car supports DC fast charging and takes 45 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%. At the same time, the car has a range of up to 300 km after fully charged.
Since its launch, orders for Wuling Air ev have exceeded 4,000 units. Wuling Air ev will be SAIC-GM-Wuling’s first global car exported to Egypt and India later this year.
