Dongfeng FengGuang Mini EV – Cheap car that copies the formula of Wuling Hongguang Mini EV, including the name

In addition to the “similar” name, the Dongfeng FengGuang Mini EV also has the same size, exterior and interior design as the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV.

Witnessing the success of Wuling HongGuang Mini EV in the Chinese market, domestic automakers like Dongfeng cannot sit idly by. To compete with the current best-selling electric car model in the Chinese market, Dongfeng decided to copy the formula and launch a new car called FengGuang Mini EV.

FengGuang Mini EV is the renamed version of DFSK Sokon Candy. DFSK (Dongfeng Sokon Automobile) is a brand that is not really well known in China because it mainly focuses on commercial vehicles. This is probably why Dongfeng decided to sell this model under the more famous Fengguang sub-brand.

In addition to the “similar” name, the Dongfeng FengGuang Mini EV also has the same small size as the rival Wuling Hongguang Mini EV. Specifically, this model has a length of 2,995 mm, a width of 1,495 mm, a height of 1,640 mm and a wheelbase of 1,960 mm.

Outside, Dongfeng FengGuang Mini EV is also designed to be square like a mobile box with a vertical side and rear. Even the ribbed lines on the front fender, the black brace between the 2 headlights and the small rims of the Dongfeng FengGuang Mini EV are also inspired by the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV.

Dongfeng FengGuang Mini EV only has a few design details such as black trim on the front bumper, ribbed lines on the doors and black trim under the C-pillar, connected to the taillights. The rear bumper of the Dongfeng FengGuang Mini EV also has a glossy black border like the front bumper, surrounding the license plate mounting frame.

Stepping inside the Dongfeng FengGuang Mini EV, the driver is greeted with a 4-seat interior space similar to the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV. This model has a 2-spoke steering wheel with function keys, a digital instrument panel with LCD color screen and a knob to adjust the air conditioner.

Inside, there are also details painted in “toned tone” with the exterior such as steering wheel spokes, cup holders, storage compartments on the door surface, borders around the buttons on the dashboard and accents on the seats. . In between the two front seats of the car is a gearshift knob that is no different from the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV.

The “heart” of the Dongfeng FengGuang Mini EV is an electric motor manufactured by Shanghai Automotive Electric Drive, which produces a maximum capacity of 34 hp, stronger than the 27 hp figure of the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV. Currently, Dongfeng has not announced the specific operating parameters of this electric car.

It is known that Dongfeng FengGuang Mini EV will be officially launched in the Chinese market in the first quarter of this year. It is expected that this model will be quite cheap, similar to the rival Wuling Hongguang Mini EV. When buying this model, Chinese customers can choose from exterior paint colors such as white, pink, green and blue.
