Genesis GV80 2021 is the latest addition to the Dubai police fleet

Genesis GV80 is a name that is somewhat more modest than the cult supercars of the Dubai police force.

When committing crimes in Dubai, you can be chased by super police cars like Lamborghini, Ferrari, or Mercedes-AMG. Dubai’s police force has always been known for its fleet of the most expensive and fastest patrol cars in the world, but the latest addition is more about luxury and modesty in other respects. Specifically, that addition is a 2021 Genesis GV80, and it was delivered to the Dubai police by Juma Al Majid Est, Genesis distribution manager in the UAE.

Like the other police supercars in Dubai, the GV80 is finished in white with a vertical combination of blue and other relevant decorative motifs. Surprisingly, the car is not equipped with the typical emergency signal lights of the police, but even without it, it looks intimidating enough thanks to the rather muscular exterior style. Furthermore, we also know what a solid car the GV80 is when it saved Tiger Woods’ life a few months ago in a tragic accident.

Suliman ALZaben, Genesis UAE director, added: “We are proud to partner with Dubai Police on various initiatives with the aim of spreading awareness among all sectors of society about traffic safety. We hope that the high-tech Genesis GV80 will contribute to facilitating the operation of the Dubai Police and providing various services to the public.”/It is not clear if the GV80 police car has a specific configuration. According to the manufacturer’s announcement, the Genesis GV80 2021 can be equipped with either a 2.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that produces 300 hp and 422 Nm of peak torque, or a twin-turbocharged engine. The 3.5-liter V6 produces 375 hp and 530 Nm of peak torque.

Chances are it’s equipped with a more powerful V6 engine to keep up with Dubai’s criminals, and deserves to be in the ranks of the local police department’s all-super performance supercars. Both engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. As standard, power is sent to the rear wheels in the entry-level model, while AWD is standard on the V6.
