Haval Jolion – B-sized SUV is about to enter the Southeast Asian market this month

Haval Jolion will compete with rivals such as Kia Seltos, Honda HR-V and Toyota Corolla Cross.

Haval automobile brand is now no stranger to customers in the Thai market. Belonging to the parent company Great Wall Motors from China, Haval is currently selling a C-sized SUV model named H6 in the Thai market with 2 versions Pro and Ultra.

In this November, the Haval brand intends to introduce another model to Thai customers, which is Jolion. This is the Haval First Love or Shu Luyen model in Chinese, which was first introduced at the Beijing Motor Show 2020.

Positioned in the B-segment SUV segment, Haval Jolion will compete with rivals such as Honda HR-V, Kia Seltos, Toyota Corolla Cross and Mazda CX-30. Compared to rivals, Haval Jolion has a significantly larger size, including 4,472 mm in length, 1,841 mm in width, 1,574 mm in height and 2,700 mm in wheelbase. Thus, Haval Jolion will become the model with the largest wheelbase in the B-segment SUV segment in Thailand.

Outside, Jolion is applied the design style quite typical of the Haval brand with a hexagonal grille, accompanied by a chrome mesh to create a 3-dimensional effect. Lying on either side of the grille is a slender headlight cluster, integrated with a daytime positioning LED strip that extends below and surrounds the vertical air vents at the two front corners of the car.

On the side of the car, this B-sized SUV has a splint on the door and a chrome rim, creating a premium feel. Besides, it is a set of 5-spoke dual-spoke alloy wheels, painted in 2 colors with an impressive design.

Behind this model, there is a “C”-shaped taillight that hugs the 2 rear corners of the car. In the middle of the taillights is a large braille stamp “Haval”. In addition, the car also has a chrome brace on the front bumper, surrounding the reflective strip, and the exhaust is hidden so it looks quite neat.

Inside the car, Haval Jolion is equipped with a spacious interior thanks to its large wheelbase and leather seats with a sporty design. Currently, Haval has not announced specific equipment of Jolion in the Thai market. However, through the initial images, it can be seen that the car comes with a digital dashboard, a large touchscreen infotainment screen, a gearshift knob on the center console, a display screen. windshield information, wireless smartphone charging, electronic handbrake, automatic temporary brake hold feature and sunroof.

It is expected that in the Thai market, Haval Jolion will only have one engine type, a hybrid powertrain with a 4-cylinder, turbocharged, 1.5-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor. Most likely, this is the hybrid powertrain currently used for the Haval H6 senior in Thailand, but weaker. In Haval H6, this hybrid powertrain produces a total capacity of 243 horsepower and maximum torque of 530 Nm.

Another notable highlight of Haval Jolion in the Thai market is the safety system. The car will have basic safety equipment such as electronic balance system, traction control, hill start assist, downhill assist, tire pressure warning, and distraction warning for the driver. and 6 airbags.

Besides, there are active safety features such as adaptive cruise control system, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, assist to avoid collisions with large vehicles in the next lane, assist to keep lane, lane departure warning, lane change warning, blind spot warning, rear collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, brake assist to avoid collision with vehicles in the blind spot when reversing and 360 degree camera.
