Honda confirmed the cessation of production of the 2nd generation Honda HR-V in the UK. Most likely New car life could be launched this year.
Specifically, Honda’s UK official website has removed information on the HR-V urban SUV line. Along with that, Autocar confirmed that the Japanese automaker stopped producing HR-V in the UK from the end of December 2020.
The main reason is that this urban SUV does not meet the new emissions standards that will apply in 2021. Currently, only a few Honda HR-V cars are left in stock at the dealer.
Before the second generation died in the UK, the new Honda HR-V was spotted testing in Europe last September. It is likely that other markets in Europe will soon stop selling the current version of HR-V to prepare for a new generation launch this year.
Honda’s 5-seater SUV has competitors such as Hyundai Kona, Kia Seltos, Toyota Corolla Cross or Ford EcoSport.
