Honda Civic Type R Australia Introducing, priced more than $ 40,000 – 2022

The 2021 Honda Civic Type R in Australia has an option of Racing Blue.

The new Honda Civic Type R sports sedan has been officially launched in Australia. Compared to the previous version, the 2021-born Civic Type R has no design changes, the car has only upgraded the driving experience and added a few new features.

The most notable upgrade on this model lies in the adaptive damping system. Honda says the system has been updated to be able to assess road conditions 10 times faster than the old Civic Type R. The area behind the B-pillar of the car is also improved to increase the bearing capacity by 8%.

In addition to the 3 exterior paint colors already on the previous version, Honda has added to this model a new paint color, Racing Blue.

The braking performance of the 2021 Civic Type R is improved by equipping the front brake disc with two separate parts, accompanied by anti-wear brake pads.

The cockpit of the new Australian Civic Type R features red accents on the dashboard, steering wheel and seats. The steering wheel and some details are covered with Alcantara leather to add a sporty and luxurious look.

New on the 2021 Civic Type R is Active Sound Control, which amplifies engine sound when running in Sport and + R modes. The vehicle also has a Honda LogR data logger that allows the driver to monitor and record operating parameters.

Powering the car is a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder, VTEC turbocharged engine, producing 306 horsepower and 400 Nm of peak torque. Although these parameters are exactly the same as the old Civic Type R, Honda said it has upgraded the cooling system on the new version with the ability to reduce up to 10 degrees C. The car uses a 6-speed manual transmission.

Honda Australia announced the selling price of the 2021 Civic Type R is $ 41,797, this price is $ 2,280 more expensive than the old version.
