Hyundai could equip the Elantra N 2022 with a turbocharged 275-hp 2.0-liter engine.
Hyundai is looking to expand its N lineup with the upcoming Elantra N 2022, a high-performance version of the Elantra. Hyundai revealed only 2 pictures of the outside of the car, details of the specifications and equipment are still hidden.
Compared to the regular and N Line versions, the Elantra N has a significant difference on the front with larger air intakes and lower bumper. At the rear, the Elantra N 2022 stands out with dual exhaust and spoiler, the rear bumper is redesigned and has a detail quite similar to the air diffuser.
It is likely that Hyundai will equip the Elantra N 2022 with a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine producing 275 horsepower. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and the Elantra N is also likely to have the option of a 6-speed manual transmission like the Veloster N model.
With 275 horsepower, the Elantra N will be more powerful than the Elantra N Line launched not long ago. Elantra N Line is only equipped with 1.6L turbocharged engine, 201 horsepower capacity. In addition to the improved performance, the Elantra N 2022 also gets a brake system upgrade.
Hyundai plans to launch seven models of the N and N Line versions between now and 2022, currently with the Elantra N, Veloster N, Sonata N Line, Elantra N Line and Tucson N Lone. The remaining two models are expected to be released next year.
