Kia Sonet recently launched in Indonesia has 7 seats instead of 5 seats as the recently launched version in India despite the same overall size.
In Indonesia, the Kia Sonet is 4,120 mm long, 1,790 mm wide, 1,642 mm high and has a wheelbase of 2,500 mm.
Compared to the Kia Sonet in India, the Sonet in Indonesia has the exact same width, height and wheelbase but 125mm longer, giving the SUV enough room to add a third row of seats without performing any changes. Design changes for the exterior.
Notable changes are located inside the car, the 7-seater Kia Sonet has 2 additional small seats in the trunk, occupying the entire trunk space. Therefore, if you have to use the trunk, customers will have to fold down the third row.
To move into the 3rd row, the 2nd row can be folded with a 60:40 ratio. Thus, the third row space is not spacious because the wheelbase is still the same as the 5-seat Kia Sonet in India, this position is most suitable for children. And also not practical because having to choose between storage space or the third row of seats for occupants.
In addition, the interior of the 7-seater Kia Sonet is completely identical to the standard 5-seater model. Includes features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, in-car UVO Connect connectivity features, a color digital instrument cluster, 7-speaker Bose audio, wireless smartphone charging and ambient LEDs.
Another big difference on the Sonet in Indonesia is that it is only equipped with a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine produces 115 horsepower and maximum torque of 144 Nm and is combined with a 6-speed manual transmission or an IVT automatic transmission.
