For customers of Ferrari LaFerrari or LaFerrari Aperta and actually drive the supercar models, the Prancing Horse is offering a new extended warranty and scheduled maintenance service for the vehicle. This is a first time Ferrari offering something like this for one of the special models.
This is a new sales policy called LaFerrari Power. Specifically, the extended warranty and maintenance will be a two-year renewable program for any year of production. Customers can apply for this warranty package from any official Ferrari dealer.
LaFerrari Power will provide annual scheduled maintenance from Maranello-trained technicians. The coverage for the warranty also covers issues related to the HY-KERS system and high-voltage battery.
Speaking of LaFerrari, Ferrari launched the LaFerrari in March 2013 as the brand’s first hybrid model. Power generated by the 6262cc V12 engine makes a total of 950 horsepower (708 kilowatts). According to Ferrari, the LaFerrari achieves an acceleration of 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in less than three seconds, 124 mph (200 kph) in under seven seconds, and 186 mph (300 kph) in 15 seconds.
Initially, Ferrari only planned to build 499 units of the LaFerrari. Later, the company produced a 500th unit and auctioned it for charity to help earthquake relief in Italy. The special car sold for a record high price of $7 million.
