The McLaren 765LT Spider supercar inherits a lot of equipment from its Coupe brother, the car weighs 49 kg more than the Coupe and 80 lighter than the McLaren 720S Spider.
McLaren supercar manufacturer from the UK has just launched a new product called McLaren 765LT Spider, a completely new limited-edition convertible version of the 765LT supercar series with a production volume of only 765 cars worldwide.
It is known that McLaren 765LT Spider is equipped with a one-piece hardtop made from carbon fiber, electrically operated, which can be opened and closed with just a button located on the dashboard of the car. According to McLaren, opening / closing the roof can be done when the car is operating at 50 km / h and takes about 11 seconds.
The British car manufacturer also said that the McLaren 765LT Spider hood opening and closing mechanism has up to 8 operating motors and is the fastest opening and closing mechanism with the least noise. The noise scale shows that when opening and closing the roof, the noise level of this mechanism is only about 60 dBa, this noise level is only half as low as the previous 675LT Spider supercar
In order to bring comfort to the occupants, the roof is also integrated with super dense sponge, which combined with the roof panels will help reduce noise levels and create a more comfortable ceiling space. The top of the A-pillar of the car is also capable of tilting forward 80mm, helping to expand the cabin space. Besides, McLaren also designed the car door with a larger opening angle, creating comfort for users when getting in and out of the car. The hood with a full carbon fiber structure acts as a link that connects the entire body structure, creating an all-carbon fiber body.
Thanks to the chassis also made from monolithic carbon fiber, the McLaren 765LT Spider 2021 is simplified with reinforced details, while maintaining the rigidity and solidity of the structure like the hardtop Coupe. As a result, the total weight of the car is only 49 kg heavier than the Coupe and up to 80 kg lighter than the McLaren 720S Spider model.
In terms of appearance, McLaren 765LT Spider 2021 inherits many aerodynamic details from the Coupe version, from the front splitter, shock absorber, door brace, rear shock bumper and active rear spoiler. Other notable equipment includes the Titanium exhaust system with 4 exhaust tips and Lithium-ion battery pack. McLaren 765LT Spider owns adaptive suspension, PCC II chassis control system, 20-inch wheels shod with Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires and aluminum brake calipers with carbon ceramic brake discs.
Inside the cockpit, the interior of the McLaren 765LT Spider also possesses many high-end equipment and helps reduce weight similar to the Coupe version. These equipment can include Alcantara carbon fiber seats, steering wheel, dashboard and door panels are also covered with Alcantara leather for a premium feel. Similar to the Coupe, the limited supercar McLaren 765LT Spider will no longer have equipment such as floor mats, air conditioning system and sound system. However, if users have a need, they can completely order the company to equip the air conditioner and speaker system at no additional cost.
The power of the McLaren 765LT Spider 2021 supercar comes from a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine block, producing 755 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and maximum torque of 800 Nm at 5,500 rpm. . This power is transmitted to the rear axle of the car through a 7-speed sequential SSG box, allowing the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in just 2.8 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 330 km / h.
Additional options for this limited-edition supercar include Senna custom seats, a front-axle lift system, a 360-degree camera and the McLaren Special Operations system that allows drivers to personalize the car to their liking.
