Mercedes-Benz has introduced the second member of the new generation G-Class after the AMG G63, the G400d.
The G400d uses a 3.0-liter turbocharged 2-stage diesel engine that produces 326 hp and 700 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission with low-resolution function and is equipped with 3 differential locks for the four-wheel drive system. The average fuel consumption reaches 9.5 L / 100 km and the ability to accelerate from 0-100 km / h in 6.4 seconds.
With a suggested retail price of $ 180,108 excluding road and agency fees, that’s $ 43,121 cheaper than a G63 powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine producing 576 capacity. 850 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque.
The new G400d is equipped with a lot of modern amenities including a 12.3-inch digital display, satellite radio, navigation, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, heated and electronically adjusted front seats, 3-zone climate control. Nappa leather steering wheel, Burmester premium audio system and 360-degree camera system are standard.
Furthermore, the diesel-powered G-Class is also equipped with MultiBeam LED headlights, sliding mirror roof with tilt function and interior curtain, Mercedes me connectivity app, steering assistance package, hold assist active distance, active lane keeping assist, blind spot assist, sign recognition assistance and front safety.
The stainless steel package is also fitted as standard with an outer guard strip with light-colored inserts running along the bodywork and the spare wheel. The metallic finish is finished with chrome accents on the front grille, 19-inch 8-spoke alloy wheels and rear privacy windows.
