Hyundai Staria Lounge Camper – Luxury camping car is launched

In the short term, the camper model is based on the luxury Hyundai Staria that is only available in the Korean domestic market.

With the Staria, Hyundai was able to do the impossible and develop a truly desirable minivan. Officially launched last year in a variety of configurations from 2 to 11 seats, this new large family vehicle has added a cargo van version and even a 15-seat school bus called the Kinder ( means “children” in German). Now, Hyundai continues to introduce another exciting version of the Staria, and this time, it is a vehicle for exploring the outdoors.

Introduced in the Korean domestic market, the Hyundai Staria Lounge Camper is available in two configurations, Camper 4 and Camper 11, depending on the number of seats. This adventure minivan features a roof that turns into a sleeping tent with the push of a button, and an air mattress for larger sleeping areas. Thanks to the boxy size that brings a spacious cabin, Staria Lounge Camper integrates a lot of utility equipment. That list includes a 36-liter fridge, a sink and faucet set, a folding table, and built-in side shelves.

Users can also attach the shower head to the back of the Staria Lounge Camper, which also has an electrical outlet for easy access to different devices. Owners can open the extra-large tailgate in the summer without having to worry about insects entering the cabin as Hyundai thoughtfully provides a mosquito net. Inside, there is enough space for two people to sleep comfortably, while the awning system expands the camper’s versatility.

At 49.47 million won, making the Hyundai Staria Lounge Camper 11 version has a fairly reasonable price range. For the more luxurious Camper 4, buyers will have to pay 68.58 million won. Naturally, the Korean automaker does offer a variety of options that will push the final price even higher.

The only thing the Hyundai Staria lacks for now is an electric version, something that goes well with its futuristic, cutting-edge design. Currently, this “extremely hot” minivan model is only offered with a 2.2-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine, or a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 engine in petrol and LPG configurations ( liquefied petroleum gas)
